Frequently Asked Questions

Rental Process

Will my insurance cover a kneewalker?

Ekneewalker is not a Medicare or Medicaid provider, and we do not file a claim on your behalf, nor do we bill your insurance company for payment. We are considered an out-of-network provider (as are most knee walker distribution companies). We recommended you contact your provider directly to find out if you qualify for any type of reimbursement. In order to make this process as easy as possible for you, we provide you with a receipt via email as well as printed with your knee walker delivery. We’ve also made it easy for you to download a Letter of Medical Necessity, which you’ll need to fill out and provide to your insurance company. Your doctor’s office can help you fill out your form. You’ll also need a prescription for your knee walker from your doctor, so be sure to ask for one (along with the diagnosis codes). We cannot guarantee you will be reimbursed for your knee walker, but we do our best to provide you with all the information you need to get the process started.

Do I need a prescription to buy a kneewalker?

No, a prescription is not required to rent a knee walker, although we recommend asking for your doctor for one so you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.

Can I rent a kneewalker?

While we started as a rental company, we found that we could make our own premium walker and charge our customer a low price to own a brand-new unit outright. The purchase price of a unit equates to a 6-week rental. We understand that not every patient may not have the ability to pay upfront, so we have partnered with afterpay, to spread the charges over a desired period of time.
